Knock, Knock - November 13, 2011

Today is a scrapbook layout given to Alison's for her baby shower book.  Again, my friend Stephanie let me borrow her Cricuit Lite Cartridge to make the page, plus I used Printing 101 for the lettering.

It's Owl About You! - November 12, 2011

I have been missing in action for awhile now.  Sometimes life gets busy and overwhelming!  Now I am back, crafting again and it is wonderful!  This scrapbook cover page is for one of the ladies who is having a baby in my scrapbook group.  We are giving her a baby shower today during our crop.

I want to give a special thanks to Stephanie, who let me borrow her Cricut lite Hoot 'n' Holler cartridge.  This really helped me stick with the theme of the mommy-to-be.  The mommy-to-be decorated her nursery in owls, so of course the cake, the plates, the scrapbook layouts from me will all be owl themed.

Stay tuned in the next week, I am branching out to organizing tips via Video!

Just Add Dirt - August 3, 2011

Lately, my focus has been on painting my house and traveling for work.  I have not had much time for crafting.  However, today I thought I would share a quick layout that I put together so you would not think I was totally missing in action!

My husband loves the outdoors.  He gardens, landscapes and even creates driveways.  He was busy last fall working with his heavy equipment making a driveway.  I went to visit him to bring him lunch, and snapped a few pictures.  Even though the layout is simple, I had fun creating it and wanted to share it.

Happy Poppy Birthday! - July 23, 2011

Just a simple birthday card.  The cake pops out with a spring.  Even though it is hard to see, I popped up some of the letters on the happy birthday background paper.

The Corrosive Challenge - July 22, 2011

My creative mojo has not been there for about a week.  I guess I needed a break.  However, I wanted to participate in the Corrosive Challenge #125 but I just did not have any stamps that were about music.  I dug through my swap stash to find this adorable image that I colored to match a 70's theme rock band.  I also added a little glitter to the guitar. This card will be perfect for a birthday!  "Have a Rockin' Birthday!"

The Corrosive Challenge - July 12, 2011

My mother has really been into quilting lately.  She is carrying on the tradition of sewing in my family.  Her mother, my grandmother, was fabulous at sewing.   I am going to be celebrating my mother's birthday in September.  She will be 65 years old.  I think I might hold out and give her this card for her birthday.  The Sketch is from the Corrosive Challenge #124.  You should play along, the sketch is SEW easy!  The stamp set is from Stampin Up Sew Suite.  I made the background paper using SU Bermuda Bay and stamping the spool of ribbon on the back.  The ruler is also made by using the same stamp set.  I cut out the ruler, paper pierced the end, and popped it up with pop up dots!  Have a SEW Fabulous Day!

The Sweet Stop SSS116 - July 11, 2011

My husband is a Cut Above!  He helps me out so much around the house.  I love this stamp set from My Favorite Things Who's That Guy "I love you Mower" especially since my hubby got him a new red lawn mower this year.  I am always looking for the perfect stamp that will go with his personality.  The sketch by The Sweet Stop SSS116 was a perfect match for my stamp.  It allowed me to showcase the grass paper I found at JoAnn's, add a strip of grass instead of ribbon and get out my cuttlebug to emboss my SU real red paper.  My image is also paper pierced and colored with copic markers.  Thanks for stopping by!

Relax - July 9, 2011

I made this card for my mother.  She has retired and now gets to relax by the pool.  I am envious because I miss not being able to play in the pool every weekend or even when I get off of work.  It is a simply card with an image that I got from a swap.

Pastel Embossing - July 8, 2011

This card is made simply to try a new technique.  The new technique is Pastel Embossing.  First, you stamp your image (Studio G Botanical) with VersaMark and apply white embossing powder.  Next, heat the embossing powered up until the image is raised.  Then take your SU Pastel chalks and SU Blender pen to color the image.  I followed up by faux stitching around the flowers and used another stamp "Discover" by Studio 112 I won in my blog candy from Regan.

Mojo Monday 198 - July 7, 2011

Today, I participated in the Mojo Monday 198  Sketch.  The image is from Stamping Bella.  She is enjoying all of her rewards from the hard work that she puts into her garden.  The paper used is SU Only Orange, Real Red, Elegant Eggplant and YoYo Yellow. The designer paper is by PJK Designs, LLC.
I gave this card to my hubby who has a medium size garden in our backyard.  He toils away in the garden every day keeping out the weeds, putting up stacks for the tomato plants, etc.  Even yesterday, he was chasing a ground hog out of his garden who seems to love to eat his okra plants.  I gave him the card as a thank you for all the healthy food he provides for us to eat all summer long.  Soon when the 43 tomato plants start to produce, we will be canning up a storm!

The Sweet Stop SSS115 - July 6, 2011

When I won Regan's blog candy, one of the great stamps I found in my package was from Tickled Pink Stamps called Lil' Lolita Fashionette 80's Sookie.  Since I grew up as a teenager in the 80's, I loved it!  When I was at A.C. Moore, I found the perfect paper to go with the her by Miss Elizabeth's.  I used The Sweet Stop SSS115 sketch and replaced the bow for the Girls Rule embellishment.  Can't you just see her signing "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun"?  I sure can!

Sassy Studio Designs - #4 Challenge - July 5, 2011

Sassy Studio Designs for the month of July has the Sassy Christmas Challenge #4.  The object of the challenge is to use a Sassy Studio Design which is a non-holiday image to make a holiday card.  I chose to use Magazine Margie and place her next to a warm cozy fire reading Twas the Night Before Christmas while she is waiting for Santa to fill the stockings.

I used Cricut Christmas Cheer to make the fireplace and stockings.  I add stickles to to the fire, firewood and stockings.  I wrote Twas the Night on the pages of the book, and colored her with Copic markers.  My green background paper is from SU and my brown floor paper is from Jo Ann's.

The Corrosive Challenge 123 - July 4, 2011

The Corrosive Challenge 123 this week was to use the colors Red & White which was perfect to go along with the image I recently purchased from Sassy Studio Designs called Lingerie Lindsay.  I had to make a sexy card for my husband to celebrate our 2nd year anniversary which will be August 22nd.  I love when I make cards ahead of schedule!!!
I decided since I did not have any white and red paper (without some pink mixed in) that I would create my own background paper using a $1.00 lip stamp from craftsmart.  The lips are created by using SU white pigment ink, plus the 2nd lips are popped out on the page to add a little dimension and let him know I am ready to throw him a kiss.  The heart is also popped out from the page, tinted on the edges with the white pigment ink and sexy ribbon streaming down.  The saying stamp comes from craftsmart also!  The image is colored with Copic markers and embellished with some sexy white pearls.  I sure hope this will spark up our upcoming anniversary!

Mojo Monday Challenge - You're a Peach - July 3, 2011

I had to travel some for work this week which meant that I did not get to channel into my creative side.  However, when I saw the Mojo Monday Challenge 197 for a circle card layout, my mind has been spinning.    I had a strong desire to create a circle card but never knew how until I found this challenge which included the tutorial by Julie Tilman.  The base of the card is a 5 1/2 circle cut with SU Only Orange paper using the Cricut Accent  Essentials cartridge.  The outside decorate paper was also cut using the cartridge.  This cool stamp set cost me $1.00 and is by Studio G.  When I saw this stamp set, I knew I had to Fun Flock the Peach in Orange.   I colored the image using Copics and flocked the image with Martha Stewart Orange Poppy Fun Flock.  I thought it was the perfect touch since peaches are fuzzy!!  I also used another peach cut out to make an extra accent for the card.

Retro Rain - June 26, 2011

The Corrosive Challenge this week is Slippery When Wet!  The theme of the card had to do something with water.  This digital image looks like a character from the 1950's, plus it is so humorous having a duck not wanting to get wet.  The retro paper came from a swap that I was recently in and I thought it was the perfect match for my Copic colored imaged.

Happy Mootastic Birthday - June 24, 2011

Mojo's Monday 196 sketch is the design used to make this card except the sketch is flipped since this is the smallest Oval in my collection.  I loved being able to use my doubleside Reminisce Cowprint paper.  One side had the cow print and the other side had the moo which is perfect to wish someone a Happy Mootastic Birthday!  I believe the image is from Whipper Snapper but this could be wrong since I received it in a image swap awhile ago.  Of course, I used Stickles on the balloons and glittered his black spots (which did not show up well in my picture).

Just Because - June 23, 2011

Today, I participated in two challenges on SplitcoastStampers, Sketch Challenge SC338 and Try a New Technique TLC330.  Distressing was the new technique to try.  I never realized how easy a technique it could be using Jim Holtz Distressing Ink Vintage Photo.  Pulling out one of my favorite stamp sets from MFT called Who's that E-Girl, took my imagination to a girl in college who lives in a 70's style decor and found the perfect couch (distressed) which is a little faded from wear but  for her apartment.  You can tell the couch is distressed because the green background paper is the original color.  All my designer paper came from SU and the Sketch Challege was perfect for the image!

Father's Day Gift - June 21, 2011

It is finally safe to post my clock that I made for my Step-Father Wayne.  It has pictures of both of his daughters and a picture of me.  He was thrilled when he got this clock.  It really meant so much to him.  I got the clock in a kit set made by a scrapbooking store that I came across in my travels called Picture2Page.  It was a fun and interesting project to create and thank goodness I had Photoshop to get the pictures just the right size.

Pedal on - June 19, 2011

My picture came out a little dark on the left side of the card, but overall I think the card turned out the way I had envisioned.  I decided to participate in The Corrosive Challenge for this week using my MFT Who's That Girl Enjoy the Ride stamp set.  The challenge wanted you to use ribbon and bows.  I am not a very good bow maker, so I spun the idea a little.  I added ribbon to her handle bars which reminds me of the bike I had when I was little.  We all loved having those great streamers flying in the air as we pedal down the road.  My other take on the ribbon was stamping the saying on to it using Stazon Ink.  The saying says " When life gets hard....pedal on."  The paper came from a paper pack my friend gave me awhile ago, and the cute pink rose (which does not look pink because of the shadowing) came from my blog candy that I won on one of my new blogs I love to follow by Regan.  I also paper pierced her clothing which adds a bit of dimension to her card. I think this will make a great pick me up for a friend who is having a rough time!

My Surprise - June 15, 2011

Today, I have interrupted my postings to show you the awesome gift my father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother-in-law, and husband sent me as a surprise to congratulate me on my new job.  It was so sweet!  I came out of a meeting and right there on my desk were these flowers.  I have something beautiful to look at and inspire me.

Happy Father's Day - June 14, 2011

Every year it is a challenge on its own to come up with a Father's Day Card.  This year, I found a great tutorial to make the above card.  I used the "Loads of Love" SU stamping set for the trees and sentiment in the shirt.  I used Pacific Ocean, Real Read, Memento Yellow,  and Distressed Inks Vintage Photo and Tea Dye to make the card.  I did not have a tag punch, so I cut it out using my Cricut cartridge Plantin Schoolbook.

Button Up Swap - June 13, 2011

Swaps, Swaps, Swaps - One of my addictions in crafting is participating in swaps.  I have made a rule for myself that I can only be in 1 swap at a time.  Once I complete the swap, I am allowed to sign up for another swap.  Otherwise, an avalanche of swap dates hits me and I become extremely overwhelmed trying to complete 10 swaps at one time.  Then my swapping enjoyment turns to madness.  One of my favorite hostess on Splitcoastampers hosted this swap where you make a card with more than one button.  I cased the idea off of Two Peas in a Bucket.  My SU designer paper made this card quite easy to put together. I thought the Maratha Stewart ribbon provided a great accent.  The sentiment is from a stamp set by Stampendous 2008 SSC197.  The scalloped punch was by Fiskar and the buttons were just miscellaneous buttons found in my collection.

Look Whooo's Reading - June 12, 2011

Recently, I went over my friend's house and her daughter read me an entire book.  I thought it would be a great idea to make a card to send to her.  I might even include a bookmark with this to make a set.  I also saw the great challenge at Splitcoaststampers for WT325 - "dying for die cuts".  I used a nestibilities die cut to cut out the owl.  The paper is from DCWV and Papertray Ink.  The image is Sweet & Sassy Olivia.

Happy 6th Birthday! - June 11, 2011

Another child's birthday card, using summer colors, Sassy & Sweet Christmas Set and K&C matching papers.  This is for my niece who will turn 6 in August.  Just another fun way to use the same paper pad combining different sets of paper in the sets to make your embellishments for the card.

Happy Bird-Day! - June 10, 2011

My husband's cousin will be having her third birthday in August.  I thought the Corrosive Challenge #119 was awesome for this week.  You could use any image to make your card with summer colors.  I thought the summer colors is actually perfect.  I used Sassy & Sweet Olivia image and a cool paper pad from K&C.  I just love the lollipops.  I thought it was a great way to use the different card stocks together and utilize the 3 in one of the strips of paper located in the paper pad..

Penguin Chick - June 9, 2011

Do you ever come across stamps that you forgot you had?  I sure did!  My friend, Stephanie, gave me this Snag'em Stamps Penguin Chick ages ago. So I decided to make her a card and send it to her celebrating the end of the school year for her.  I know she is looking forward to summer just as many school teachers are this time of year.  I know I am looking forward to it, even though I will be working.

I used my sponge dobber to create the festive background.  My paper came from DCWV paper pack and I added my little flower embellishment.  Happy Summer Everyone!

Girl Birthday Card - June 8, 2011

What's Cookin - A Made from Scratch Birthday!  This is a birthday card for someone who loves to cook!   I love the doodlebug background paper and embellishments.  It is a fun loving card!  I made the apron with my Cricuit Cartridge From My Kitchen.  Happy Cooking!

Fold and Scrunch Ribbon Challenge - June 7, 2011

A fun clean simple card with a fold and scrunch ribbon for the SplitcoastStampers May 30, 2011 Challenge CAS121.  This card idea came from Two Peas in a Bucket.  I really liked the soft edges to the left side of the card.  I thought the flower popped out the flowers on the page.  How did I scrunch the ribbon?  I put a piece of blue ribbon straight across the card.  Then I cut a new piece of ribbon and glued it as I scrunched it so it would stay in place.  The image is from my Inkadinkado Bird Assortment.

Simple & Clean Birthday Card - June 6, 2011

Sometimes you just want to make a simple and clean card.  I chose to make a simple and clean card by combining the Stampin Up Fine Detail Set and the Inkadinkado Friendly Characters Set.    The saying comes from a Close to My Heart Set which says "The secret of staying young is to live honestly, eat slowly, and lie about your age.- Lucille Ball.  I thought this would make a great birthday card for a guy.  Simple, yet sweet!

June 5, 2011

Baby Card - June 5, 2011

We always need a non-gendered specific baby card.  I created this cute baby card using a die cut image, embossing folder, and added some buttons.  The paper is  from DCWV and Stampin Up.  I like the colors of purple, yellow and green because they are bright and cheery.

Happy Birthday - June 4, 2011

Happy Birthday!  You can never have enough birthday cards.  I took the My Favorite Things Sketch of The Week #22 Challenge and made this birthday Card with several of my stamps.  The main image and sentiment are from My Favorite Things called Birthday Flopsey.  The presents are from CTMH Solo W and the Balloons are from SU Fine Detail.   I had a fun time making this card and using the sketch design.  Plus I enjoyed the color scheme.

Get Well Soon - June 3, 2011

You can never have enough get well soon cards on hand.  This image is from Mo's Digital Stamps.  It is called the Swine Flu.  I thought it was adorable.  I fun flocked the tissues on the image and created my own tissue box for the saying.  I also grabbed some tissues out of the real tissue box and cut them to look like tissues coming out of the box on the card.

Merry & Bright - June 2, 2011

My last 8 x 8 layout for the Scrapbook Layout of the Year Swap.  The glistening lights were created from the Cricuit Christmas Cheer cartridge, Stampin Up paper, DMC thread and my favorite product, Stickles!  Another simple but fun layout to celebrate a Merry & Bright memory of Christmas.

Sassy Studio & Mojo Monday 193 Challenge - June 1, 2011 (2nd Post)

Sassy Studio Designs is having a month long challenge.  The rules are: You can enter as many times as you like throughout the month as long as your project 1) follows the theme given and 2) uses a Sassy Studio Designs image.  The theme given is "Oh Christmas Tree" to use a Christmas tree anywhere in your project whether it is an image, embellishment, designer paper, or embossing - let your imagination flow.  I chose the Sexy Santa image from the Sassy Holiday collection.   I thought this image would make a perfect Christmas Card for my hubby!  The greatest thing is my card is now complete!  I cannot believe it!  I will have to tuck it away in a secret hiding spot for Santa to give.  The layout was from the Mojo Monday 193 Challenge.    I colored her with copic markers, used echo park designer paper, Stampin up paper for the trees which were cut using the Cricuit Winter Wonderland, a touch of liquid applique with fine glitter for the tops of the trees and the fur on her jacket and hat. Happy Creating!

Happy Birthday to my Brother-in-Law, June 1, 2011

Happy Birthday to my brother-in-law who loves to play Golf!  I picked this image because it slightly favored him.  The image came from twistynoodle.com.  I sponged the sky, paper pierced his clothes, decided the image should be a circle to represent the golf ball and colored the remainder with copic markers.

Swap 8 x 8 Halloween Layout - May 31, 2011

Halloween - a fun holiday to dress your kids up or dress up yourself and eat candy or scare your friends or family.  I am starting to become fond of 8 x 8 layouts.   They are simple, yet seem to be more full of life than the 12 x 12 layout.  Perhaps the focus is more precise or the embellishments stand out more.  Whatever the reason, I have enjoyed creating all of these fun page layouts for my holiday swap.  Once again, I used the Cricuit Stretch your Imagination cartridge to make my embellishment.  Instead of sponging my embellishment, I decided to use my Stampin Up markers to highlight the entire pumpkin and his lines.  I sponged the PaperTray Ink White photo mat with Black Memento Ink and used some background paper that I found at AC Moore.

Celebrate - May 30, 2011

Celebrate - Celebrate your birthday, Celebrate your new job, Celebrate a promotion, Celebrate a new grandchild, a new pet, Celebrate a day that God has blessed you or Celebrate the fact we live in a free country.  Today is memorial day, so please honor your military.  There have been many men and women who are no longer here because they gave their lives so we can have "special" days like this to Celebrate.  Happy Memorial Day!

Swap 8 x 8 All Spruced Up Layout! - May 29, 2011

If you are like me, you are far behind on the scrapbooking.  To make a Christmas layout in May is a normal event.  Another bad habit that scrapbookers often have is having left over paper.  My goal was to use some of my scraps to make this layout (K&C and Stampin Up).  The tree embellishment came from Stretch your Imagination Cricuit Cartridge.  To spruce it up, I added rhinestones, stickles and an awesome glitter star.   I even delved into my stash and found alphabet stickers that had not been used in years.  It sure helped spruce up this page!

Swap 8 x 8 Turkey Layout - May 28, 2011

Before we know it Thanksgiving will be here and we will be gobbling up our festive feast!  This is the layout I made for an 8 x 8 swap.  I colored the turkey using copic markers, added some feathers and incorporated some pattern paper from DCWV to make a simple layout.

From My Husband: Congrats on my New Job! - May 27, 2011

Today starts my nine day vacation break before I start my new job.  Last night to celebrate, my husband surprised me with all these fun wrapped packages.  Inside the packages were all sorts of scrapbook paper he had picked up while he was traveling.  He also found scrapbooking embellishments for our pictures, ribbon and supplied me with all of these new stickles!!!  I was so surprised and had to share the news!  I have the best hubby in the world!  Thank you hubby for celebrating with me!  Now, I plan to play in my craft room for days!!!!!

WT323 Challenge - May 26, 2011

To start out with, this is not the prettiest card I have ever made, but I had fun working on the challenge.  The challenge was to make a card with a music theme.  So I looked to my iTunes and found a great song from the 80's called " Stray Cat Strut" by the Stray Cats.  The inspiration my cats, Bonnie and Clyde.  I used the Cricuit to cut out the cat and piano.  The cat is Fun Flocked in Orange with some added googly eyes.  The sentiment is from Inkadinkado.  I embellished the card with a cat.  So please have some "Cat Class and Some Cat Style" for my music theme challenge card.

Thinking of You - May 25, 2011

The Side Step Cards are so adorable and fun to make that I attempted another one today.  They have started to become one of my favorite cards to make.  Of course, my second card has umbrellas in it also because of all the rain we have had plus the me and my Big Ideas designer paper is super cute to use.  I was able to pop up the umbrellas for a more three dimensional look.  The card is made with Stampin Up Barely Banana paper and with Papertray Ink white paper. The images are stamped with black Memento Ink and colored using my Copic markers. I used my Magnolia image, SU saying, and CTMH D1415 Happy Spring set to decorate this card.

Christmas Album Complete - May 24, 2011

My Christmas Album for 2009 is now complete.  I am sharing my last layout from the book which I think is simply adorable.  I used our pictures as gift boxes in the sleigh.  I used my Cricuit Christmas Cheer cartridge to cut the sleigh using Fit to Page.  I then cut the overlay of red for the sleigh at 5 3/4 and each reindeer is 5 3/4 in size. I am so happy that this project is done!  I can check one goal for the year off my list!

Scrapbooking - The Christmas Tree - May 23, 2011

Scrapbooks etc, has a section on making scrapbook pages from a shape.  It inspired me on my 2009 Christmas album.  I decided to cut a Christmas Tree along with the gift boxes using my Cricuit .  I then cut the pictures to fit in the tree and the boxes to make this layout.  I wanted a cute way to show off Bonnie and Clyde enjoying Christmas!

Get Well Soon Aunt Nancy - May 22, 2011

We have had quite a bit of rain this spring!   The rain inspired this "Get Well Soon" card for Bryan's aunt, Nancy.  Nancy is battling a brain tumor, and we are praying for her everyday.  We ask that you pray for her.  I know in my heart that God answers prayers.  I know he healed one of my friend's mothers when I was in 5th grade.  I wrote this verse to her and have always remember it: "I love the Lord because he hath heard my voice and my supplications" Psalm 116:1.  I plan on writing this verse in Nancy's card so she will remember that God is listening to all of us.
We have decided to send her a bit of chocolate to cheer her up!  I used the Side Card Step tutorial to make this card.  It is so easy and fun to decorate that I plan on making another one, so be watching for it.  The images are from  Close to My Heart D1415.  I used Stampin Up Real Read paper and PaperTray Ink White Paper.  The decorate paper with umbrellas came from 2008 me and my BIG ideas.  Plus a little Stickles to add a bit of glitz!

SC333 Challenge - May 21, 2011

Today, I am missing out on my scrapbook club because I am under the weather.  However, I just had to take some time to work on this week's challenge at Splitcoaststampers.   It seems that everyone is popping up pregnant or getting ready to have a little one.  In preparation for these events, the challenge came in perfectly handy to make a baby card.  My card is 5.25 x 5.25, a perfect size to fit in my 5.5 x 5.5 envelopes.  I used DCWV Nana's Nursery Premium Stack for my designer papers, and Papertray Ink White paper.  The image is stamped in black Memento Ink and colored with Copic and Stampin Up Markers. The dressed is paper pierced using one of the background papers.  Every girl must wear diamonds, so her earrings are Diamond Stickles.  The fancy matting was created by using a FISKAR punch.  The image is CTMH Ms. con the Go C1347, an adorable versatile stamp set.

Scrapbooking Layout - April 25, 2011

My spring scrapbook layout for a recent swap.  I had fun making these pages using several different Cricuit Cartridges and Stickles!!!   HAPPY SPRING!
