12th day of Christmas - December 31, 2012

I will be honest Frosted Designs 12th Day of Christmas to use 12 brads on my layout was a bit of challenge.  I had not idea how to use brads on a layout especially 12!!  I found this cool paper by We R Memories in my stash.  It had little circles at the top, so I decided to put the brads in the circle and change up the colors.  You will have to click on the picture to see the little brads, but there are 12 brads on there!!  I did it!  I ended up making 20 pages with this challenge!  Thanks Frosted Design, you gave me the inspiration to finish my 2010 album!

11th day of Christmas - December 31, 2012

On Frosted Designs 11 Day of Christmas use 11 banner flags!  I decided to make lights as my banner flags, and stickled in the letters with silver.  It says "Up 2 Snow Good".  This is my cat Bonnie, peaking out at the snow, and possibly looking for Santa Claus.  My cats love Christmas.  They like the tree, presents, paper and bows.

10th Day of Christmas - December 31, 2012

On Frosted Designs 10 Days of Christmas, what do you think you had to use? Yes, 10 buttons!  I made a tree using the Cricuit, decorated with some stickles, and used buttons at the ornaments and tiny pictures as the presents!

9th Day of Christmas - December 31, 2012

Frosted Designs 9th Day of Christmas is to use 9 pearls or sparkles.  I love sparkles, so I used 9 pink sparkles on my layout to match the paper!  I just love some of these expressions from 2010 for Christmas.  Again, I have loved this challenge because I have created so many pages and what great motivation!

8th Day of Christmas - December 31, 2012

Frosted Design the 8th Day of Christmas requires you to use 8 brands/products in your layout.  I thought this would be the hardest challenge, but it came together rather well!
  1. Stampin Up Background Paper
  2. DCWJ Paper for Trees
  3. Close to My Heart Mat Paper for Picture
  4. Michaels Dollar Bin Tag
  5. Deck the Halls Stickers
  6. Ribbon
  7. Brads
  8. Button

7th Day of Christmas - December 31, 2012

You did not miss the 6th day of Christmas which required the use of Washi tape.  I do not own Washi tape, so I skipped this challenge and moved on to the Frosted Designs 7th Day of Christmas.  I love this challenge!!!  We actually had a white Christmas in 2010, and took pictures out on my mother-in-law's deck so this challenge of using 7 sparkly snowflakes was fun!  I made them sparkle with Stickles Silver and Frosted Design!

I am also entering this into the Little Scraps Pieces: Fun Friday "Winter" Challenge.

5th Day of Christmas - December 31, 2012

On the 5th day of Christmas over at Frosted Design, you had to use 5 gold things on your project!  Can you spot them?  Gold Matting for the pictures, gold in the present runner, gold rhinestones, gold stocking with teddy bear, and yes, gold around the stocking brad....

4th Day of Christmas - December 31, 2012

Frosted Design 4th day of Christmas requires four patterns of paper to be used in your layout.  It was fun to create a very busy layout with bright colors!  Yes, I skipped the 3rd day of Christmas because I just could not think of something creative, so you did not miss it!

2nd Day of Christmas - December 31, 2012

Frosted Designs 2nd day of Christmas requires the use of two stamped images in your layout.  I used two tags as my journal space and stamped a Christmas Tree and Present as my two images.  This project has been really fun, and if your ambitious, you should try to play along.  Not only did I get one page done for each challenge, I went ahead and finished the second page to match!

1st Day of Christmas - December 31, 2012

I decided on December 29th to play along with Frosted Designs 12 days of Christmas. You had to complete 10 out of the 12 days, and that is exactly what I did.  This is the 1st Day of Christmas which requires you to use a bird in your layout.  My bird is on the ornament - a Partridge in a pair tree!

Christmas Card 2012 - December 27, 2012

Finally, I have my Christmas Card for 2012 posted.  I barely made my Christmas cards this year because I suffered from a kidney stone and had surgery, plus again I waited to late to start my cards.  My goal is to get my Christmas cards made by July this year.  Let's see what happens!!

I used a Stampin Up embossing folder for the background.  Joys of the Season cartridge to cute out the poinsettia, and stickles to enhance it!  I pulled out the Merry Christmas stamp from an old Stampin up set from 2002 and some decorative ribbon stashed in my box.  I made about 40 cards this year.  Thanks for stopping by....looking forward to a new year!!

Christmas Wreath - November 25, 2012

I have been a bit delayed in working on crafts this week.  I woke up Monday suffering from a kidney stone.  Unfortunately, I still have it, and I am hoping it passes soon.  In the meantime, I was super excited to be able to sit down and create this star burst wreath.  I saw it on the front of Women's Day magazine last year.  I was going to make it last year, but the company where you buy the straws from were sold out.  So I waited until the first of the year, and purchased the straws as soon as they came in stock.  I really love it!  It was fun to make!  It started off the Christmas Season in the house, and provided much inspiration for my decorating this year.

Loom Knitted Scarf - November 16, 2012

Yes, I know this is not a paper craft item.  I have picked up a new hobby, loom knitting.  It is perfect activity to do when I am relaxing on the couch in the late evening especially if my husband is watching football.  I spend time with him, he watches what he loves, and I get to craft!  I created this scarf for a silent auction for my Rotary club.  We raise money to support a scholarship for a student to attend college.  I hope whoever wins the auction, will enjoy the scarf.

Snowman Peppermint Patties - November 15, 2012

I had seen this idea out on the web in several places.   Most ladies used all SU punches and stamps to make these adorable snowman.  I decided to use the Cricuit George Basic Shapes to create the snowman entirely except for his hat.  I made these adorable snowman peppermint patties for a craft fair in December.  I hope they make great stocking stuffers!  Thanks for Stopping by!

Penguin Candy Wrappers - November 12, 2012

I found this idea at Reflections by Jennifer.  However, instead of creating my penguins with punches, I used my Cricuit.I used the George & Basics Shapes cartridge for the ovals, (his white belly) circles (the eyes, hat), and hearts (nose and feet). I also broke out a crafting item that I had not used in years.  Can you guess what item it would be?  I will not hold you in suspense - scallop crafting scissors, and snowflakes brads for the top of the hat.  It turned out so cute! Inside is a package of two reese cups!  I just love how one looks like a girl penguin and the other a boy just by changing up the googly eyes!  I hope these sell well at my craft fair in December.  Thanks for Stopping by!!!

I am a birdbrain - November 1, 2012

Another card using that great Raisin Boat set For the Birds.  It says, "Sorry", and inside, "I am a birdbrain".  Just a perfect card, when we decide to do something birdbrain!  What do you think? I can imagine a moment when I become Unglued, and say something and later feel like a birdbrain.

This image is perfectly paired with Tuesday Morning Sketch  #170, which is offering a quite creative sketch this week.   The other challenges, I am entering are Twisted Tuesday Anything Goes 2TC30, The Paper Shelter 88 - Anything Goes, Paper Playtime Challenge #87 Anything Goes, and Totally Stampalicious Anything Goes.

You Got Mail - August 24, 2012

Today, I created a card from one of the four sketches for Tuesday Morning Sketch Challenge #160.  While I did not use an oval in the middle, I really loved this image from My Favorite Things Who's That E girl.  This is one of my favorite stamp sets.   I had fun paper piercing the couch, dress, computer and wallpaper. The paper is all from Stampin Up.  I found scraps to make everything which is awesome!  Thanks for stopping by, please leave me some mail (comment).

Made for Each Other - August 18, 2012

On August 22, 2012, I will celebrate my third anniversary with my wonderful hubby!  The theme behind this card will really make him laugh!!  He has a garden and grows wonderful vegetables for us to eat each year.  However, this year, he has been battling a ground hog.  The ground hog has been taking chunks out of the vegetables and ruining his crop.  He has put a trap out to catch the ground hog, but the ground hog is smart and will not go in the trap.  He has thrown rocks at the ground hog and even chased the ground hog with his golf club.  However, the ground hog always gets away.  So this is the perfect card for our anniversary, especially with the saying from Close to My Heart Everyday Life stamp set.  The Sketch is from The Sweet Stop SSS172.  I think that we are made for each other, and I am glad God blessed me with him.
