Key to My Heart - 1/29/2014

We have several weddings to go to this upcoming year!  There is no time like the present to start making my wedding cards.  The sketch over at Mojo Monday Tall & Skinny card #330 turned out to be the perfect card to put on a gift.  I choose to make the card using the 5.5 x 7" cut of cardstock, scored long side at 3.5".  Plus, I finally got to use this adorable embellishment with the key and the heart that I had been saving for two years.  Yes, I notice I tend to hold on to stuff!

I had been wanting to make a card with red and black.  It had been preying on my mind.  I embossed the heart on the card:

A Cheery Elephant Birthday - 1/28/2014

For a child, a birthday is just the greatest time ever!  I remember getting cards in the mail with a little cash inside!  It was super awesome, and I looked forward to it every year. I think just receiving something in the mail is so super fun! This elephant birthday card gives me the same feeling.   I love the bright colors and cheerfulness it brings!  Thanks for stopping by and hope your day is bright and cheery!

She Said What? Birthday Wishes - 1/26/2014

I was so disappointed to find out yesterday that MFT "Who's that Girl?" stamp sets had been retired.  They retired in Fall of 2013, while I was teaching.  I was so sad!  So of course, I had to pull out one of my sets just so I could enjoy stamping her!

Triple Stamping - January 25, 2014

Well this is the second card for today!  While my first card focused on Spring which I am longing for, this card is a focus on winter.  I used this great tutorial by Mynnette over at Techinque Time Tuesday.  I had the perfect stamp given to me by my hubby for Christmas in 2012.  Yes, I waited until 2014 to use this incredible stamp.  My picture does not catch a few elements on my card.  I used liquid applique sprinkled with some glitter to give it a snowy look - since the forecast for the day is snow. 
To really set off the inside of the card, I cut an image using my cameo silhouette and accented it with liquid applique.  If you get a chance, you should really check out the tutorial!  You will be glad you did!  Thanks for stopping by!

Yes, I am ready for spring!  Can you tell by my color choices?  This winter is so bitterly cold.  I am a warm weather girl myself!  I love this sketch by Freshly Made Sketches, it was perfect to make a cute thank you cards.  People are always doing something so sweet, so I thought I better have some of these on hands this year too!

I made my first valentine card of the year.  The sketch is actually from Freshly Made Sketches #119, but I was two days late to play along in their challenge.  However, the sketch was perfect for the heart filled hot air balloon.

Birthday Cheer - January 21, 2014

When I saw the sketch from Sketch Saturday #293,  I knew right away the perfect stamp set to use.  I love this little stamp set from Whipper Snapper Designs.  These cats are so cute and in the mood to celebrate a birthday!  Since I taught last semester, I used up all my birthday cards.  Now it is time to make some new ones, and start getting ahead again.

It's a Good Day - January 20, 2014

Why is it a good day?  Well first, I am able to craft again, so that makes it a good day!  My adjunct position is over!  My project life for 2013 is complete!  So, I can start working on some  great projects for 2014.  Second, I actually have the day off which is wonderful!  It gives me some extra crafting time since the house is in order and the laundry is done!  Third, Mojo Monday #329 sketch was simple and help me get inspired to get my crafting MOJO back! Fourth, I said "Hello" to my silhouette who had been sitting in the corner collecting dust!  She was happy to get back into crafting!  Fifth, it is always a good day with someone you love, taking pictures and making memories.  Sixth, I never have a card just for fun!  They are always for birthdays, thank yous, etc.  This one is just a simple card to give someone with a great picture of our day spent together!  Seventh,  I discovered a new challenge blog called The Crafting Cafe, and this week is the Anything Goes Challenge - check it out!  Why is it a good day for you?  Let me know!!!
