This little Piggy says Thanks-January 30, 2012

Last week, work was extremely busy and very stressful so I did not get as many cards posted. Instead, I got a lot of sleep at night!  However, last night I had a chance to make this adorable card using The Sweet Stop Sketch SSS143.  The inspiration for the card came from the ten pounds of sausages meat my husband and I divided, wrapped and froze on Sunday for 2012.  I found a new digital stamp shop called Doodle Pantry which had this cute image, saying and digital paper (2 squares) called Mud Piggy.  I colored him using copic markers.  I was leery about coloring a pig, but happy about how he turned out!  Thanks for stopping by......

Mix of Challenges - January 25, 2012

Today, I decided to make a card that incorporated several challenges.  The first challenge is Paper Sundaes Challenge #104 - Paper Piercing.  So of course, I used one of my favorite images from MFT Who's That Girl Well Read.  I just love paper piercing the couch and her book.  In real life it actually brings the two parts of the image to life, and she looks to be snuggled up on the couch with a good book which has the title "Be Mine" stamped on it!  The Sketch this week came from The Sweet Stop SSS142- Non Traditional Valentine Card.  I took the sketch and rotated it to fit my image and replaced the ribbon with the tickets "Love Story".  Most girls just love a good romance story about Valentine's Day and this card is great to give a girlfriend because it is not mushy!  The Corrosive Challenge #141 which requires you to have a heart on your image....  Can you find the hearts?????........You guessed it, on the book cover!  Thanks for stopping by!!!!

Plant a Tree - January 20, 2012

My husband has planted four trees in the yard.  Two of the trees are extra special to me.  The first is a Christmas Tree in the front side yard.  He knew I loved Christmas and would enjoy putting lights on the tree outside each year.  The second tree was for our first anniversary.  Since then, I have seen it grow each year just like our relationship.  When I saw this adorable image which I received from a friend, I had to make a card with it.  I wish I knew who actually made this stamp.  Plant a tree, and plant some hope!  Happy Crafting this Weekend!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #129 - January 19, 2012

We have people all around us that deserve a great Thank you card for all the things they do for us.  Today, I used Tuesday Morning Sketches #129 to create this thank you card.  It was fun getting out the embossing gun, something I had not used in awhile.

Mojo Monday 224 Challenge - January 18, 2012

To keep my mojo going for the week, I decided to participate in the Mojo Monday 224 Challenge.  I had the perfect paper to go with this image.  Again, I used spring colors ---- can you tell I am ready for spring?  I guess I have a few months to go.

Thinking of You - January 17, 2012

First of all, I would like to announce that I was one of the top 5 cards for Tuesday Morning Sketches' Challenges last week for my Vintage Card.  I received the badge on the side of my blog for this accomplishment!  I am super excited because I have never been recognized in a challenge before.  Thanks for the great honor!

Now on to the card above which I made to be a fun "Springy" card with pastel colors using one of my favorite Sugar Nellie Stamps "Daisy".  I like her because she looks like me when I was a child.  My interest lately has been to practice my coloring with my Copics trying to get the shadowing right, etc.  The sketch of my card comes from Sweet Stop #130 Sketch.  Thanks for checking out my blog today!

Happy 2nd Birthday Paper Sundaes-Let's Roll - January 15, 2012

Paper Sundaes is a blog which offers challenges to their followers.  Today, they are celebrating their 2nd birthday by having a blog hop.  You get to pick one of your favorite challenges from the past year.  My favorite challenge is #64 - Childhood Memories.  This challenge is to make a card featuring a childhood memory.   My Favorite childhood memory is going roller skating.  My mother use to take me roller skating every Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. to Noon.  What a commitment for my mother to sacrifice her Saturday for me to enjoy my favorite activity.  She would stand there on the sidelines watching me go round and round, over and over, every week.  I wanted to take the time to thank my mother for all she did for me and taking the time from her weekend for me.  She is really a remarkable, unselfish woman who loves me more than I can comprehend.  Thanks Mom!!

My sketch is from Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge 367  and since I decided to use a button on my project again, I am entering it in the Catered Crop Button Challenge.  The image is adorable from Mo's Digital Pencil.  I am also entering Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge #117 Clean & Simple.

Valentine Card - January 14, 2012

Valentine's day is only one month away!  Since I have my birthday cards done through the month of February, it is time to work on Valentine Cards.  This is the first card I have made in awhile which did not require a stamped image.  The sketch is from Mojo Monday Sketch 223.   SplitcoastStampers the Way to Use it Challenge WT357 Stuck on Me had us incorporate a sticker in our card.  I never really thought about using a sticker on the card, but I thought the love you sticker was perfect with the theme of my card.  In addition, I am entering the Catered Crop Challenge where you had to use a button on your project.  I love using buttons!

Vintage Challenge - January 13, 2012

Tuesday Morning Sketches #128 had a challenge this week for vintage cards using their sketch.  Bottle Caps came to my mind because they are vintage and rare.  I hope you enjoy my MFT image Who's That Girl Enjoy the Ride stamp.

Sweet Stop Sketch SSS140 - January 12, 2012

Today, I am participating in the Sweet Stop Sketch SSS140.  This design was very challenging!  I used my Stampin Up markers to color the clear stamps from Inkadinkado stamp set.  It was a great way to pull in the colors used in the card. Another birthday card completed for the year and checked off my list!  I am so happy!  My New Year's resolution is moving right along!  I love getting cards done ahead of time!

Happy Anniversary - January 11, 2012

Happy Anniversary this month to my In-laws.  They will have been married for 26 years. I looked around for many sketches to use for the design of this card but nothing appealed to me.  I decided to take the plunge and design my own sketch and it was fun!!!

The image is from Close to My Heart D1261 Simple Beauty.  I colored the image and craftable paper flower using my copic markers then layered the flower on top of the main part of the image with a pop-up dot.  The theme of my sketch are ovals based on the cool image. I hope the recipients love the card!

Card Stock Only - January 10, 2012

Today, I am entering Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday Challenge  - Card Stock Only.  You are NOT allowed to use any designer paper.  I did a simple sketch using all SU colors, snowflake ribbon, and embossed the white paper with snowflakes in my cuttlebug.  The image is a Magonlia image sent to me by a friend.  I found this challenge to be relaxing!

Start of the Week - January 9, 2012

I always dread MONDAY because it is the start of the week.  Do not get me wrong, during these times I am very thankful to have a job that I enjoy.  However, Monday means that I cannot be in my craft room all day working on my passion.  Lil Lolita Lilith looks like me on the way to work on Monday as I drive away from my craft room.  The Corrosive Challenge this week is to start the New Year off using something new on your card.  Well I decided to use several new items on my card and some of these items came from Regan when I won her blog candy.  The new items are: Tickled Pink Stamps Lil Lolita Lilith, Tattered Time paper, and my polka dotted purple flower.  The card sketch came from Deconstructed Sketch #33.

Mojo Monday 222 - Contest - January 7, 2012

Today, my hubby went fishing in the river and fell in a hole which caused him to hit a tree stump and dislocate his shoulder.  I decided to make him a card for when he returns as a surprise to let him know how much I love him, enjoy living my life with him and hoping he feels better soon.  My sketch is from Mojo Monday which is sponsor a contest to start out the new year! The card is entirely made of scraps from other projects so I cannot remember the names of all the paper.

Birthday Card - January 6, 2012

Another goal accomplished for the year, my second birthday card.  I have not decided the recipient, but this image by Penny Black called Elephant Song is stinkin' cute!  Paper Sundaes had a challenge Out with the Old, In with the New!  You had to use one item that was new which is my Penny Black elephant image and buttons along with something old which is my designer paper scraps from SU and Close to My Heart.  The card sketch came from another challenge from Splitcoaststampers called Sketch Challenge 366, I thought the design was fun!  One of the elements which is hard to see in the image is that I flocked the polka dots on the elephant then I wanted to continue to pull out those cool polka dots with my paper and buttons.  I know this will make someone smile on their birthday!

Frosted Design Card Challenge #9 - January 5, 2012

This card was made for Dee, my husband's cousin.  Her birthday is the 15th of January.  I am really proud of myself for getting a birthday card done for the year!  Currently, I look to be on track regarding my New Year's Resolution.  The design and challenge came from Frosted Designs. I thought the design was perfect for a Birthday Card.

The supplies I used were all scraps from my collection which is a plus.  I cut the round matting with Accents Essential Cricut Cartridge, SU ribbon, and SU designer paper.  The cupcake was recycled from an old project.

TLC358 Let's Get Wet Challenge - January 4, 2012

I entered this card into the TLC358 Let's Get Wet Challenge on SplitcoastStampers' Monday Try a New Technique.  At this time of year, what a great way to think out of the box and make a wet needle, wet ice bag and some snotty tissues for the Let's Get Wet Challenge.  It seems everyone has been a bit under the weather lately.   The digital stamp is called Cat Flu by Ladybug Crafts Ink and is colored after my sassy cat, Bonnie.  I mimicked the background of the Happy Days designer paper with a white gel pen on the black background and included some stitching which went along with the ribbon perfectly.  Now, the card is being deposited into the mailbox to someone dear who seems to be struggling to Get Well.  Hopefully, this card will help in the healing process.

Frosted Designs Challenge - January 2, 2012

Today, I participated in a Sketch Challenge 31 for a scrapbook page from Frosted Designs.  I thought the page was perfect to start my Christmas 2010 album.  What I loved about this challenge is that I could incorporate Erin Reed's tutorial from Frosted Designs on coloring bling or pearls with copic markers.  I took it a step further, and made a little tutorial regarding the process.  I want to thank Regan who included the pearls in her blog candy in helping to contribute to my page.  I hope you enjoy the design and enjoy watching.....

The products used to create the page are as follows: Little Yellow Bicycle Wonder & Wishes designer paper, Colorbok Green Texture Cardstock, Cricut George & Basic Shapes cartridge for the numbers; Cricut Christmas Cheer cartridge for the banner; Opaline Pearls; Copic Markers R29, G29; Close to My Heart Black and White Journaling Pens; Red Xmas Stickles and Studio G green pigment ink for accenting elements.

Happy New Year - January 1, 2012

My New Year's Resolution is to at least complete one craft project a week.  Looking back at last year, I did not really get to enjoy my hobby to the fullest or get the projects on my list completed.  Therefore, I plan on changing that including getting my Christmas cards done early as well as my Wedding Album completed.  It would also be great to get my birthday cards done ahead of schedule so I am not rushing to complete them.

This card was my husband's birthday card.  The image is a digi image from Ladybug Crafts Ink.  I think the cat is adorable probably because it reminds me of my cat Clyde.  I used Copic Markers to color the Chair, Mouse, and Cat.  I actually used yellow and orange to color the cat and he turned out pretty good.  Happy New Year everyone!  I hope it is the best yet!
