Altered Tin

This is the first time I ever altered a tin. I received the tin from one of my secret sisters for the month of December. I decided to alter the tin and give it as a present. It was really a fun experience. Now, I have to figure out just where she got such a cool tin to alter.

Stamps: Inkadinkado Cattitude, Flower Stamp from the dollar store
Paper: CTMH Designer Paper, SU Pixie Pink, SU Black
Ink: Versamark, Basic Black (dye and pigment)
Accessories: SU Black & Pink Embossing Power, Heat & Stick, Dazzling Diamonds, Heat Gun, CMTH Flower Rhinestones, misc rhinestones, bookmark clip, pop up dots, sticky strip, corner rounder pen.

I cut the paper 7 x 5 1/4 on the front and inside and used a corner rounder for the final touch. I used sticky strip to attach to the box. I used pop up dots to make the folder inside on the sides and sticky strip on the bottom and hand stamped the pink paper before adhering inside the tin. Cover the top of the legal pad with stamped paper and added some bling!

I embossed the cat on the front of the tin using the versamark pad and black embossing powder. I embossed the cat on the book clip in the same manner except I used SU pink embossing powder.

I stamped the flower image on the front with heat and stick, heated it, drizzled the dazzling diamonds, reheated and stuck the flower rhinestones from Close to My Heart for a little bling.

The pen was easy, just rolled some cut paper inside of it to make the final match. I think this turned out to be a great gift!

Cut out circle punch and scallop circle punch. Stamp circle punch with Close to My Heart Solo "T". Push paper on versamark pad, sprinkle with heat and stick, heat up, then sprinkle with dazzling diamond and reheat

Stronger Relationship

I made a card not long ago for my boyfriend with a tree on it. We both share a love of looking at neat trees. I made this card to give to him on Christmas Eve just to let him know that our relationship is getting stronger and stronger everyday. I got the inspiration for this card in October by beestamper on Splitcoaststampers. I had never tried this technique before and her card looks much better than mine but my card did not turn out too bad for a first timer. I did change up some of the colors.

Stamp Set: Stampin up Lovely as a Tree
Ink: Basic Black Pigment Ink, Not Quite Navy, Bashful Blue, Glorious Green, Handsome Hunter and Kiwi Kiss
Paper: Garden Green, Glossy White and Not Quite Navy
Accessories: Sponge Dauber, Circle Punch, Post-it Note

Christmas Gifts 2008

I decided to try making some cute containers stuffed with Hershey Kisses for my friends at work! I covered the cans in paper, ribbon and stickles even on the top! I used cute wooden ornaments to add a little pop to the can! I think they turned out rather cute but I do not feel the picture did these justice!

Christmas Cards for 2008

I think my Christmas cards have been received now, so I decided to post the picture of the cards! Merry Christmas to everyone!

My Birthday

Today is my 37th birthday! While I am not happy that I am getting closer to 40, and I feel like I was 17 just the other day, I am happy to be alive. Birthdays use to be exciting because you were getting older, now you take the time to ponder where you have been and how fast life passed you by. I still think Birthdays are exciting. I still feel like a child inside and love the day. As for my crafts, I have spent most of my time trying to design my Christmas cards. I will be revealing my Christmas cards after they have been received. I have finally finished the design and hope to have them completed by the end of next weekend. In the meantime, I am enjoying my birthday with my boyfriend and getting ready for Christmas!

Halloween 2008

Even though this is not craft related, Bryan and I had a blast for Halloween this year. We really enjoyed dressing up. He was a monster from the grave and I was a zombie bride. We had a very spooky evening!

Birthday Cards

I created two birthday cards last week. One for my friend Stephanie and the other for her husband, who is also my friend, Chris. I had a great time making both cards. Stephanie's card which is the cupcake card was made using my circuit machine and close to my heart stamp set. Chris' card was made using a card swap kit I received from a swap I recently participated in. I thought it was perfect since he likes to golf. I hope they both had a wonderful birthday! They are really some of the best friends to have in the world!

Happy Halloween

Lately, I have really been into making cards. My latest creation has been my Halloween Card for my family and friends. I can safely post the card since it now has arrived to all the receipints. I decided to break out my Close to My Heart stamp sets for Halloween. I love these stamps because it makes it easy seeing exactly where to stamp.

Supplies:

Close to My Heart Frightenin' Fun
Stampin Up Only Orange Ink and VersaMark Pad
Stampin Up Black Embossing Powder
Stampin Up Black Card Stock; Only Orange Card Stock; Pumpkin Pie Card Stock
Orange Peel Stickles and Eucalyptus Stickles
Happy Halloween Ribbon
Adhesive
Pop Up Dots

First, I stamp the pumpkin on pumpkin pie card stock (I let the image dry over night for best results before embossing). Next, stamp the versamark image of pumpkin face on pumpkin. Emboss pumpkin face and let dry (one hour). Then cover image in orange peel stickles leaving lines of stamping image uncovered to give the pumpkin dimension. Hand draw stock on pumpkins with Eucalyptus stickles. Let dry over night. Cut out each pumpkin and adhere 2 pop up dots on the back of each pumpkin. Cut 4 1/2 x 5 card out of black card stock, cut smaller Only Orange card stock and adhere ribbon to card with adhesive. Attach to the card and attach pumpkins. Use the extra pieces of orange card stock to stamp Happy Halloween inside. Have fun making the cards and enjoying Halloween!

6th Month Anniversary

My boyfriend and I will have dated six months on October 26, 2008. Of course, I had to make a special card for the special occassion. He loves martinis, so I bought him a cocktail shaker to make his favorite drink. I am giving him the cocktail shaker for our anniversary. The card says "You have Shaken me since the first day I met you!"

I made this card with the Bella On the Rocks stamp given to me by a very good friend. I used Stampin Up Gable Green paper to pull out the olive in the martini; Close to My Heart black paper which gives a white edge to the effect; and Papertray ink white paper. I used the huffing technique to stamp the martini glass. I put diamond stickles to make the drink stand out. I used olive stamp color to sponge the edges of the stamped image. Of course, I stamped out the words with a versamark pad so I could emboss them, but decided to stamp the word shaken so it looks like it is moving on the page.

I love you Bryan!

My boyfriend's boss let us borrow his tiller and aerator to work on the lawn. I decided to get him a gift card in appreciation of using the equipment. I decided to make a thank you card with a gift card holder slip inside.

Then use a sponge and sponge the colors over the stamped images to make the sky and grass). Inside Card: take another layer of card stock (same color as card)and cut half the size of one side of the card about 2 1/4 inches, punch half a circle in card stock, adhere on the sides and bottom leaving the punch section at the top. Strong Relationship

This is a special card that I made to symbolize the growth of a strong relationship. I used the Inkadinkado Flourished Fall Tree, yellow rhinestones, Stampin Up Chocolate Chip paper, some great embossed paper from my secret sister, green ribbon and Inks: Chocolate Chip, Not Quite Navy and Garden Green. I used a sponge to apply the sky and grass to the image. I really enjoyed making this card because that person means the world to me

Frogs

I love frogs on paper, not in real life! I have made several cards with the Stampin Up Frolicking Frog set. We think of frogs as being typically green, but there are other different colored frogs in the world. When I see a frog, I think of my favorite phrase "Fully Rely On God!"
