Easter Card - 2/27/2014

So Easter time is actually late this year, April 20th. I like that Easter will be later so the flowers have time to bloom, and perhaps the winter will be gone!  I won this cute digi image  from Handmade Harbour. They have a challenge blog, and it is fun to play along!  You will probably see this image again since I am thinking about coloring it differently for another Easter Card this year.  Thanks for hopping by!

You are SEW special!

This is my first time ever sewing on a card!  It is not the best job in the world, and took me several attempts.  However, I conquered my fear of using the sewing machine and paper together!  I knew I had to try it when the challenge for Corrosive Challenge #193 In Stitches appeared.  Since I had to sew on a card, I decided to use a sewing theme which seemed only fitting!  Thanks you SEW much for stopping by!

Happy 27th Anniversary! - 2/23/2014

My mother and step-father will be celebrating their 27th Anniversary on the 25th!  I am so excited for them!  My pastor stated that you can having an amazing wedding, but what is important is to have an AMAZING marriage.  Amazing marriages stand the test of time.  They withstand all the trials and tribulations of life, and come out on top! I hope those two love birds have an AMAZING anniversary!

I Won!

I am so super excited!  I found out that I won a challenge over at The Corrosive Challenge Blog!  I am so honored!  It has made my entire day! This is the card that won the challenge!  I sent it to my mother for Valentine's Day!  This has really started off my week!  If you get a chance, go over and play their challenges!  They are really fun!

You're Moovelous! - 2/20/2014

If I could own one cow, I would be happy farmer!  I love cows!  However, it is not feasible for me to own a cow, so instead owning a stamp with a cow on it will do!  The stamp image is from Whipper Snapper Designs, and the sentiment is from Technique Time Tuesday that I won about a year or so ago!  I have held on to the sentiment for the perfect time!  I hope when you see this card, you have a MOOvelous Day!

Tool Belt - 2/17/2014

My stepfather's birthday is coming up in March.  He loves working on projects around the house, and has helped me with several projects at my house.  I thought a perfect theme for his birthday card would be something to do with tools.  I saw this adorable tool belt card over at Beestamper from 2008.  I decided to try this tool belt making my own pattern, and using different shades of Brown.  I also sponged the paper to make it look more like a tool belt with varying colors.  The tools actually came from my silhouette, though you could use sticker tools.  I plan on having an upcoming tutorial on how to make this card soon!

Slam Dunk - 2/16/2014

My father-in-law graduated from UVA and loves to watch them play basketball.  My hubby says that UVA is doing great in basketball this year.  We decided it would be a great idea if I made a basketball card with UVA colors for his upcoming birthday!  The stamp set is digi from Hambo Hoedown.

Love You - 2/15/2014

Here is my second post for the day!  I normally do not CASE cards.  However, after seeing Cindy Lovell's card over at Freshly Made Sketches, I wanted to give it a whirl!  Of course, I used a different embossed background, added falling hearts, and used scrabble tiles to spell out I LOVE YOU.  I gave this card to my hubby who loves to play games.  He thought it was one of the best valentine cards.  Thanks Cindy Lovell for the inspiration, and to Freshly Made Sketches for the sketch.

Dapper Birthday - 2/15/2014

My brother-in-law is an Assistant Manager at a country club.  He is always dressing up and sometimes wears a bow tie. He also likes old movies. When I saw this set by Stampin Up called Dapper Dad, I had to purchase it to make him several birthday cards for the next few years.  It really reflected his dapper personality.

Have an "Ice" Day! 2/14/2014

I heard on the news today that 49 of the 50 states  have snow on the ground!  We definitely did have snow.  When it all ended, 18 inches with a possible 1" tonight.  Looking out the window gave me inspiration to make a winter card!  Yes, winter is upon us whether we like it or not!  It has been a harsh winter at that!  Hope you have an "Ice" Day!  Thanks for stopping by!

I like your Style! - 2/13/2014

We do not get snow days very often!  However, we woke up to about 15.5 inches of snow, with 2 to 3 inches more possible by the end of the day!  I cannot wait to measure how much snow we actually get from this storm.  Since it is a snow day, it also makes a perfect crafting day!  I decided to tackle the Freshly Made Sketches #123 sketch by Jen B.  When I first saw the sketch, I had no clue how to make a card using the sketch.  Then I started looking around my craft room, and saw the beautiful bright buttons!  We each have our own style, so the saying goes with the buttons perfectly!  I thought this would make either a good birthday card, everyday card or thank you card!  Of course, I will wait for the perfect occasion and recipient!

Under the Weather - 2/12/2014

It sure seems that many people have been sick this year, and feeling a bit under the weather.  This image from Lady Sunshine called Raining Frogs is so cute!  You could use this image for a Get Well Card or just for a bad day!  She is so adorable!  Do you ever have a day where you feel like it is raining frogs?

Fill with Joy - 2/11/2014

It is so important to fill each of your days with Joy.  Some days can be tougher than other days to get through.  Do you try to look at your blessings?  Do you try to do something that will bring you joy or someone else joy?  I love making cards.  Cards bring me joy, and my recipient also receives joy upon receipt!

Toadally Cool Valentine - 1/10/2014

Hugs and Kisses - February 9, 2014

This card really should be a "Get Well" card to myself since I have been sick for over a week.  Today is the first real day feeling good, wanting to do something other than rest so I broke into the craft room and started crafting! 

I just love this image by Saturated Canary called Hugs and Kisses.  She is so adorable and perfect for my Valentine's Day card.
