Many Thanks - May 23, 2013

Lately, I have found that I needed to send out several thank you cards!  Does it ever occur to you that the art of letter writing or even sending out a personal thank you note is foreign to others?  We might not think about this often, since we take the time to make cards for our family and friends.  However, today I was reminded that there is an entire generation out there who thinks everything should be done over the internet or via text.  The importance of receiving a handwritten note to someone is foreign.  I think it is the greatest thing ever to receive a handwritten note.  First, I know someone cared to sit down and take the time to write to me and take it to a mailbox.  Second, I love to see someone's writing!  Do you ever recoginze someone's handwriting?  Handwriting is so unique!  Third, opening up that mailbox and receiving a letter is far more enjoyable than bills, junk mail and even a craft order!  Yes, I said a craft order!  Why?  Because it is personally for me!  Hopefully, letter writing will never fade and the etiquette of a good thank you note will last too!

Such a good point. I think some members of younger generations, and even our own, often forget how nice it is to send and receive personal mail.
