Die Cut Main Image - January 21, 2013

Today, I participated in the Splitcoaststampers Challenge Try A New Technique TLC413 - making a die cut the focal of your card.  I cut this cute bunny out with the Cameo.  I inked Close to My Heart Slate around the edges to give him some shadowing.    He is going to make a super cute Easter Card this year!  I also am participating in the Inspire Me Fridays - Anything Goes challenge! Honeymoon Cozumel Layout - January 20, 2013

I had a blast looking at how silly we were on our honeymoon!  My hubby always knows how to have a good time, and be a kid sometimes!  These pictures were taken as we explored Cozumel.  They had all sorts of fun places to have a good photo opt!  The layout is #100 by Sketches in Thyme.  I had to change it up a little bit because my pictures were not quite the right size for their layout.  However, I tried to stay as close as possible!  Little Scrap Pieces Use a Flower challenge was to add flowers to your card, layout, or project.  I thought the flowers went well with the paper and pulled out the colors in the picture.  I sure am ready for another cruise!  New Goal: Save money for cruise!!

Honeymoon Title Page - January 19, 2013

One of my new year's resolution for crafting is to start my Honeymoon album!  We went on our honeymoon in 2009, so it is about time that I started this album!  Sketches in Thyme had the perfect layout #99,  This will be the first page to my album.  It sure has been fun to look back at these pictures!  Maybe one day, I can get current on my scrapbooking again!  You should head on over there, and make a scrapbook page!

Card for Hubby! - January 18, 2013

It snowed here last night 6.5 inches.  My wonderful husband is out shoveling the driveway, and hoping the truck doors become unstuck soon!  He is going to take me to work.  I made this card for him.  I will either use it today to write him a kind note, or save it for his birthday!  I participated in the Sweet Stop Sketch SSS193 sketch challenge.  The sketch was really fun!  The fishing stamp set is from Raisin Boat.  I loved the tackle box even though there is a lot to color and the fishing rod was stamped in distressed ink!  Thanks for stopping by!

Beauty Sleep - January 9, 2013

I am working hard to get scrapbooking projects for 2010 complete plus make some cards for the year.  I really enjoyed this scrapbooking sketch by Sketches in Thyme #98.  It really helped me showcase my cats who are always napping in the craziest places!  It must be the in thing to do!

Crew Call Entry - January 7, 2013

I have decided to try out for the crew call over at Technique Tuesday by using their Faux Tile Challenge.  You should hop on over there and try out a technique from last year and perhaps have a chance at becoming part of their crew. 

 

I also decided to play in a couple more challenges with this card.  First of all, Sweet Stampin had a great idea of using white plus one other color to make your card.  It really makes you think about what to create.  I choose White and Stampin Up's Midnight Muse.  C.R.A.F.T. Challenge 188 had you make your own background paper for your project, so I embossed the white flower onto the blue cardstock for the first background paper and then stamped the flower in blue for the second background.  My main panel is the Faux Tile challenge from last year at Technique Tuesday, and put it all together with the Sweet Stop Sketch SSS192.  One of my favorite cards that I have made this year!  Thanks for stopping by and start creating!

Mojo Monday #274 Challenge - January 6, 2013

I made my first valentine card for the year!  I am super excited because this card will be for my hubby!  I love him so much!  I used the sketch over at Mojo Monday Challenge #274. It was a nice easy sketch to work with for a nice simple card!  Sometimes we forget to just make a simple card!

Baby Girl Card - January 4, 2013

One of my scrapbooking friends is having a baby girl in February.  Her baby shower is in January, so I needed to make a card.  I heard that she is really not much into the "pink" theme for a baby girl, so I decided to use plaid and highlight "purple" as the accent color.  Over at Splitcoaststampers they have a challenge WT408 to use something "new". My new item is the image by Sassy Cheryl Digi's.  I just love her images!  This one is so cute!   Sassy Cheryl's is also having a Challenge #147 "Anything Goes", so I thought I might as well enter it! The sketch is by Sketch Saturday Week #239.  I really enjoyed the layout of this sketch, and the ability to make my digi image to fit the area!

Birthday Pedestal Pop Up Card - January 3, 2013

I had a marvelous time making this card today!  First of all, I found two SU Stamp Set sitting in the drawer waiting to be inked, For the Birds and Punch Bunch.  The paper from My Mind's Eye really compliments the For the Birds set perfectly! 

Why was this card fun to make?  I had two reasons (1) The 3D Pedestal Pop Up Card tutorial over at Technique Tuesday was fun and different!  You must check it out since you can enter to play all month long!; and (2) I loved The Sweet Stop SSS191 sketch.  They always have awesome sketches on their site!  It feels good to have another birthday card completed for the year!

Birthday Girl - January 1, 2013

Happy New Year everyone!  I am posting my first card for 2013 to celebrate my husband's cousin's upcoming birthday.  I just love the bright colors of this card, and I think it says birthday celebration all over it!  The image was given to me by my mother and it is called Humphrey Birthday Girl.  This image reminds me of a TV series called New Zoo Revue which aired in the late 70s.  There was a character on the show called Henrietta Hippo, and she reminds me of her.  I use to love to watch this show along with Captain Kangaroo!
